Picture Book Writing

The timeless joys of digging for worms, playing music, and composing the wackiest Mad-Libs possible inspire me to weave stories from my own childhood with the imaginative play I’ve experienced as a teaching assistant in early learning classrooms.

I love picture books because readers can:

Reflect on overcoming obstacles
Embrace unlikely friendships
Experience growth mindset and learn empowering lessons
Identify emotions and spark their curiosity
Advance their literacy

I’m an active member of SCBWI, a Children’s Book Academy graduate, and a volunteer at The Children’s Book Bank. Find me endlessly wandering the picture book section at my local Powell's Books and library.

Rosie Grows

My manuscript, ROSIE GROWS, is a STEAM-themed intergenerational story that illuminates finding balance between mindfulness and technology, while inspiring children to enjoy nature and grow.

Additional back matter discusses the key components to growing food, and the life-long benefits of gardening for people of all ages.

The Garden Rosies Project

As the curator of The Garden Rosies Project, an online resource with over 1900 followers worldwide, I provide families with a community space to learn tips and tricks for involving kids in gardening. Encouraging a love for plants, pollinators, and biodiversity in an authentic and meaningful way directly connects to the themes and narrative arc in ROSIE GROWS.
